| Question: What Contactor should I use? | Answer: Normally Closed (NC) |
| Question: Can I toggle the unit for a Normally Open (NO) contactor. | No. The Toggle feature is no longer available. This unit is only suitable for use with Normally Closed (NC) Contactors |
| Timer is not sensing the monitored inputs |
1. Check that the wiring aligns with the diagram in the instruction manual. 2. Check that the commissioning process has been completed - this is ALMOST ALWAYS the issue |
| Timers are not working correctly when two units are linked together by the CAT5 Cable |
1. Check that the CAT5 Link cable is no longer than 2m - this is not suitable for linking timers in separate locations or distribution boards. 2. Check that the commissioning process has been completed. |
| Emergency lights are ON in normal operation |
1. Normally Open (NO) contactor may have been used, change to NC 2. Unit has not been commissioned properly |
| NC contactor is confirmed installed but emergency lights behave as if in the wrong relay mode (e.g. ON during normal operation), and the electrician can confirm the relay is toggling on both the timer and the contactor |
The timer may have been inadvertently set to the wrong contactor/relay mode. This can occur on older model timers. To reset: hold the Prolong button and turn the key to the Stop position. The relay will flash 3 times to confirm the relay mode has been toggled. If the issue recurs after resetting, the timer will need to be replaced. Note: The current model no longer includes the ability to change relay mode, so this problem will not occur on new units. |
| Emergency lights are still on after 90/120m have passed | if the test LED is flashing this is running through an extra 45 min timer to allow you to check each fitting after the test is complete |
| Emergency lights are on after testing complete | Prolong may have been enabled - check status of LED indicator |
| How long can the Interlink cable be? | no more than 2m. |
| Do I need to monitor the lighting Circuits |
This is dependant on your wiring. Please refer to AS2293.1 clause

FIRST QUESTION TO CUSTOMERS SHOULD ALWAYS BE: "Have you commissioned the unit as per the instruction manual" - see below.
