- We do not provide dimmer compatibility charts for any of our products to customers.
What Dimmer is suitable for your downlights?
We would generally (unofficially) recommend the Diginet MEDM Trailing Edge dimmers as the best on the market and the most compatible with our products (all of our products are tested with these dimmers). A number of other brand TRAILING EDGE dimmers will also likely be compatible.
Are your downlights compatible with CBUS?
Whilst we dont qualify any of our downlights officially as CBUS compatible. However we know that the AT9012 is generally compatible with CBus Trailing Edge dimmers, however we cannot guarantee this as any changes to the CBus dimmer design may affect this. Other downlights may be compatible, but we give no guarantees
Here is our standard Phase Cut Dimmer compatibility statement
LED Luminaires, dimmers and dimmer systems contain many discrete electronic components that may change from batch to batch and for various other reasons over time. These small changes are often within a small tolerance and do not affect the overall performance or functionality of the product. Whilst Evolt strives to maximise the compatibility of our dimmable Luminaires and Lamps, this may be taken out of our control by small changes to third party drivers dimmers themselves and the way they interact with our products.
Please note:
Our engineers test product dimmer compatibility with a single fitting attached to a selection of common dimmers, and is a snapshot of compatibility at the time of testing.
Dimmer compatibility charts for specific luminaires are not a recommendation of a particular dimmer model or brand.
The absence of a model or brand of dimmer from a compatibility chart does not necessarily imply non-compatibility of product.
Dimming compatibility may vary depending upon application, site conditions, load on the dimmer, and should only ever be taken as a guide.
Dimmer compatibility is not covered by product warranty.
When selecting a dimmer:
- Select common modern brands or models of Trailing Edge or Universal dimmers as these will have been designed specifically for dimming LED loads.
- Look for dimmers that have a calibration function or Low-end trimpot. This allows the installer to adjust the lowest dimming point to avoid annoying or unnecessary flickering and strobing at low light levels.
- Avoid wiring dimmer circuits to multiple different models of dimmable luminaire.
- Ensure that your load meets the Min loading rating of the dimmer, and does not exceed the rated max wattage.
