For customers who want to rewire the BAT Security floodlight to include both manual and automatic switching, the following guide can be used.
Normal wiring
For standard operation, the customer wires the active cable from the switch to the active terminal. This allows the sensor to control the light.
2. Manual / Automatic Switch.
Customers may wire a manual override in parallel with the sensor output. This is not the standard use case, but it can provide additional functionality.
Switch position 1 (auto) is wired in parallel with the sensor.
Switch position 2 (manual) is wired to the standard active input.
Using a multi-pole switch is recommended, as it makes the selected mode explicit and ensures correct operation.
Customers may choose to use two separate switches; however, this can result in the manual and automatic modes being active at the same time, which will prevent the sensor from operating.
Both auto and manual wiring must be taken from the same phase.
