A customer complained their 5 Bronte's without light weren't working. The blades were very stiff and wouldn't spin. When they tried to run the fan it just beeped and made a whirring sound. Here is the customer video:
The problem here is the blades have been mounted incorrectly, screwed in below the motor mount and not above. Below is a photo.
If the customer's issue is the blades don't spin, the likely issue is wrong installation of the blades. You can also see this from the video as the face is sunken and doesn't look right. It is worth checking to make sure the install looks correct as bad mounting normally doesn't look right. The manual normally includes a diagram which will show blade mounting positions.
The motor whirring is due to incorrect startup, which happened as the motor couldn't spin due to the stuck blades. If you do come across a motor whirring, it would be good to have the customer check if the blades can spin easily.
