Both the Condor and the AT9135 Hawk operate in very similar ways. The main difference is in the sensor design (Hawk does not have a moveable sensor - it is fixed).
Questions - Both units:
Q: Do these have manual Override? A: YES - See below and Instruction manual for how to operate this function.
Q: What is the "L'out" for? A: This is a switched output from the sensor to run additional lights
Q: Can I connect two sensor units together, so that a trigger from one will turn both on? A: Technically yes this can be done by linking the "L'out" terminals together (units must be on the same circuit), but we dont recommend this.
Q: Can I wire a fixed manual override switch? A: Yes the electrician can wire in a sensor bypass switch, by adding a separate switched active line wired to the "L'out" terminal. This will supply active directly to the LED lights bypassing the sensor.
Water Ingress
Until recently the Condor was rated IP65 for the non-sensor versions and Ip54 for the sensor versions. We have since re-tested and found that the Condor with sensor DOES in fact pass IP65. We have changed the packaging and website to reflect this in mid 2025. Older stock will still be marked with IP54, but is in fact IP65 rated. As this is a running change, there may in fact be some situations where customers will receive both stock. The AT9135 Hawk is suitable for all weather installations as it is IP65 rated.
Water ingress can occur sometimes at the back of the fixtures and tracks into the fittings along the cable. It is the responsibility of the installing electrician to ensure a weather proof installation using the seals provided and additional silicon if required.
Coastal installation.
We recommend the Hawk for any installations with proximity to the coast. It is Poly carbonate and will will withstand salt corrosion better than the Condor. Neither of these fittings is of marine grade and are not suitable for operation directly adjacent to the sea or salt environments.
