This guide explains how to manually configure the direction (arrow) and activation settings for the Dynamic Exit Sign using the internal selection switches.
Note: The manual arrow selection described below determines the sign's behavior during standard emergency operation. If you are using a wired Fire Panel connection to force specific states (like the Red X), that signal will override these manual settings.
1. Accessing the Internal Switches
To access the configuration switches, you must first open the unit.
Tool Required: Use a flat-blade screwdriver.
Release Clip: Locate the release clip on the side of the unit. Push the clip in and down with the screwdriver to release the locking mechanism.
Remove Diffuser: Carefully slide the diffuser body out to reveal the internal PCB and switch banks.
2. Setting the Dynamic Function (On/Off)
You can enable or disable the dynamic functionality (the moving/blinking elements) for each side of the sign.
Locate the switch labeled POWER.
ON Position: Set the switch to the center position to Enable the dynamic elements.
OFF Position: Set the switch to either side position to Disable the dynamic elements (static mode only).
3. Setting the Arrow Direction
You must manually set the direction the green arrow will point during an emergency.
Locate the switch labeled ARROW SELECTION.
Slide the switch to the position matching your required egress path:
(Right): Sign indicates exit to the right.
(Straight): Sign indicates exit straight ahead.
(Left): Sign indicates exit to the left.
Important Note: The Green Arrow will only illuminate and animate when the device is in Emergency Mode. In normal mains operation, the sign remains in its standard passive state unless triggered by an external controller.
Optional: Red Cross Activation (Wired)
While the Green Arrow is configured via the internal switches, the Red Cross (X) feature is typically triggered by an external signal (such as a Fire Panel).
Function: The Red X indicates that the exit path is unsafe.
Activation: It is activated by applying a 24V DC signal to the CONTROL terminal.
Operation: Unlike the green arrow, the Red X can be activated in both Normal and Emergency operation modes whenever the 24V signal is present.
Wiring for Red Cross
Input Voltage: Max 24V DC.
Connection: Connect the Fire Indicator Panel output to the + and - terminals on the sign's CONTROL block.
