Ceiling fans will often make different noises for different reasons. In some cases this is due to the design of the fan, incorrect installation or in very few cases a fault.
AC Ceiling fans (Such as the Ceduna, Coolum & Fuji will have a slight 50Hz AC humm. This is the nature of an AC Ceiling fan and is not a fault. Recommend any customers who complain about this to switch to a DC fan,
DC Ceiling fan noise - Some DC ceiling fans, due to the size, design and programming may hum or have a low noise on slow speeds. This is not a fault, but is just the design of the fan.
Ticking or Creaking noises - These are generally due to poor installation, misalignment of the hanging ball into the ceiling mount bracket or installation onto surfaces that are not well braced.
- Have the customer confirm that they have used the coach bolts supplied for mounting the fan. If not, this may be the issue due to the fan not being secured correctly to the mounting surface.
- Have the customer confirm alignment of the hanging ball into the bracket - sometimes just moving the fan in the bracket can bed it in better and prevent the noise.
- Confirm that the fan has been installed to a solid structural beam or soffit (ceiling).
