We had a customer return a ROD/150/WH where they couldn't get it the fan plug (in this case a Mooloolah Mini but this instruction relates to all fans) to connect to the rod cabling. Below is the photo they sent showing their issue.
From the image we can see the plug has been connected the wrong way around. Calling the customer has confirmed this. Below is a photo of the connector the right way around and a close up of the rod connector.
Firstly to spot the issue is the latch doesn't align. The connector has a latch on the fan side of the connector which clicks over the hump/clip on the rod side. In the customer photo the latch doesn't appear lifted by the clip like in the correct photo.
Secondly the connector isn't all the way in. The connector is keyed with a changed socket seen in the above photo (Bottom right of the plug). This stops the plug from going in the wrong away but does let the connector push in partly.
We can also see the rod's wire colours don't look correct either. The rod mount is a universal connector for our fans who's internal cable colours can be different between fan types/styles. So the colours will not always line up. However the green/yellow strip earth cables should always line up. In the customer photo you can see this isn't the case and shows something is wrong.
