Summary
On earlier versions, the diffuser (blade) was slid sideways into the recessed frame and the cover plate was then clipped over the top. On the current version, the diffuser attaches to the cover plate first, and the two are installed into the recessed frame together as one assembly. There is no sideways slide.
If you have installed this product before and are trying to slide the diffuser into the frame, it will not seat correctly. This is the most common cause of fitment reports on the current version. The unit is not faulty.
What changed and why
Installers reported that on the previous design the diffuser was not always slid fully home before the cover plate was fitted. When that happened the assembly sat proud of the ceiling or the cover would not click in evenly.
The current design removes the slide step entirely. The blade now hangs directly on the recessed bracket, so there is no partial engagement possible. The base moulding slot profile was revised at the same time to suit the direct fit.

Correct installation sequence (current version)
- Install the recessed frame into the ceiling and complete the electrical connection in accordance with the supplied installation instructions and AS/NZS 3000.
- Attach the diffuser (blade) to the cover plate first. Locate the diffuser onto the cover plate and confirm it is fully engaged along its full length before going any further.
- Install the cover plate and diffuser into the recessed frame as one assembly. Present the assembly squarely to the frame and press evenly until the retaining features engage.
- Confirm the cover plate sits flush to the ceiling line with no gap on any edge.
- Test the unit and complete commissioning as required.
Do not attempt to fit the diffuser into the recessed frame on its own, and do not slide it sideways. That is the previous method and it will prevent the cover plate from seating.
Troubleshooting
The cover plate will not sit flush, or sits proud of the ceiling. The diffuser is most likely not fully engaged with the cover plate, or has been placed into the frame separately. Remove the assembly, attach the diffuser to the cover plate off the ceiling, confirm full engagement, then refit as one assembly.
The diffuser will not slide into the frame. This is expected on the current version. The diffuser is no longer designed to slide. Follow the sequence above.
The assembly feels like it is fouling on one side. Check that the assembly is being presented squarely to the frame rather than led in on one edge, and that the recessed frame itself is square in the ceiling opening.
I have a mix of old and new stock on site. Both versions are supported and both are safe and compliant when installed to their own instructions. Check the printed instruction sheet supplied in the carton, as it always reflects the version in your hand. The current version is identified by the revised base moulding slot profile shown above.
